造成输送带跑偏的原因很多，一般是因为设备没有调整好，还有就是皮带在制作过程中出现误差而导致喇叭口跑偏。

带头传动的滚筒或尾部改向滚筒的轴线与输送机线不垂直，造成输送带在转头或尾端转向滚筒时，输送带跑偏时输送带在滚筒两侧的松紧度不一致，沿宽度方向的牵引力 Fq也不一致，成递增或递减趋势这样就会使输送带跑偏。

调节方法为：对于输送带向滚筒右侧跑偏时，应将右方轴承座向前移动，输送带向滚筒的左侧跑偏，则左侧轴承座应向前移动，相对应的也可将左侧轴承座后移或右侧轴承座后移。尾辊的调节方法正好与卷筒的调整法相反。在调整传动带之前，山东输送带经过反复调整，更好在调整传动或换向滚筒之前准确安装其位置。

轧辊外表面的加工误差、粘料或磨损不均匀，导致输送带向直径较大一侧跑偏。

此种情况下的解决办法是清理干净滚筒表面的胶粘，加工误差和磨损不均匀的就要更换，重新加工包胶处理。
